How to make your vibe-coded site not look AI-made
AI builders are great at getting a working site live in an afternoon. The catch is that many of those sites look alike: the same default components, the same centered hero, the same gradient. You don't need a designer to fix that. You need a better starting point, one or two moments of real motion, and a few habits. Here's what we'd use.
The tools
Scrolltide
A library of 124 scroll-driven, cinematic website templates, plus 66 components and 55 animated shader backgrounds. Each one comes as a prompt you paste into your AI builder, with full source code. It's built exactly for this problem: its pitch is a site that doesn't look AI-made.
Use it for: Starting a landing page or portfolio from a strong, animated base instead of a blank prompt.
$39/month (10 premium copies a week), $144/year or $299 lifetimeMagic UI
Animated components and effects built with React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS and Motion, designed as a companion to shadcn/ui. The free library covers effects like animated text, backgrounds and marquees; Pro adds 50+ landing page sections and templates.
Use it for: Adding polished motion to a React or Next.js site that already uses shadcn/ui.
150+ free, open-source components; Magic UI Pro $199 one-time (individual lifetime license)Aceternity UI
A React, Tailwind CSS and Motion library of animated components, blocks and templates for landing pages. You can copy and paste them, or connect Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another MCP-compatible agent so it installs them for you. Paid All-Access adds 200+ premium blocks and 15+ templates.
Use it for: Eye-catching hero sections and effects, installed straight from your coding agent.
100+ free components; All-Access from $169 one-time (1-year license)Mobbin
A searchable library of real screens and flows from shipped apps and websites. It isn't a component kit; it's a reference library so you can see how good products handle pricing pages, onboarding and dashboards. Pro adds flows, animations, AI search and an MCP connection.
Use it for: Finding real-world references to show your AI builder before you prompt.
Free (limited) / Pro $10/month billed yearly / Team $16 per member/month billed yearlyLottieFiles
The home of Lottie, a lightweight animation format for web and apps, with a library of 800,000+ free and premium animations. LottieFiles says its optimized dotLottie and JSON files can be up to 80% smaller. It also offers AI tools such as Prompt to Vector.
Use it for: Small, crisp animations for loading states, empty states, icons and success moments without heavy video files.

Practical tips
1. Start from a reference, not a blank prompt
Before you prompt, collect two or three sites or screens you like (Mobbin is built for this) and describe or attach them. "Make it modern" gets you the average of the internet. "Like this pricing page, with our colors" gets you something specific.
2. Pick one signature motion moment
One great scroll effect or animated hero beats ten random animations. Choose a single moment that shows off your product, from Scrolltide, Magic UI or Aceternity UI, and keep the rest of the page calm.
3. Change the defaults on purpose
AI builders reach for the same fonts, rounded cards and purple-to-blue gradients. Pick one typeface for headings, one accent color that's yours and a consistent corner radius, and ask the AI to apply them everywhere.
4. Use real words and real images
Generic copy ("Unlock your potential") and stock or placeholder images give a site away faster than anything. Write the headline yourself, say who it's for, and use real screenshots of your product.
5. Swap emoji and default icons
Emoji used as feature icons are a common tell. Replace them with one consistent icon set, small Lottie animations or product screenshots.
6. Keep it fast and respectful
Heavy animation hurts load times and can bother people with motion sensitivity. Prefer lightweight formats like Lottie, lazy-load anything below the fold, and ask your AI to respect the reduced-motion setting (prefers-reduced-motion).
7. Check it on a phone
Most visitors will see your site on mobile first. Scroll the whole page on a real phone and fix anything cramped, cut off or janky before you launch.

FAQ
Why do vibe-coded sites all look the same?
AI builders default to the most common patterns they've seen: the same component libraries, layouts, fonts and gradients. Without a reference or clear design choices, you get the average result.
Do I need to pay for these tools?
Not to start. Magic UI and Aceternity UI have free component libraries, Mobbin and LottieFiles have free tiers, and Scrolltide has some free templates. Paid plans add premium templates, more references or team features.
Will these work with Lovable, Bolt, Cursor or Claude Code?
Scrolltide is designed to be pasted into any AI builder as a prompt. Magic UI and Aceternity UI are React and Tailwind libraries that coding agents can install, and Aceternity UI supports MCP for agents like Claude Code, Codex and Cursor.
Is Scrolltide an AI tool?
It's a library of prompts and templates made for AI builders, rather than an AI model itself. We list it in our Vibe Coding picks because it solves a common vibe-coding problem.
